Don't hit delete!!

Growing up surrounded by hoarders I swore this addiction would never take hold of me!

I consider my grandfather to be on of  Australia's biggest hoarders! he found pleasure in discovering hidden treasures and would often delight in showing us kids his 'finds' of the day!

This obsession was passed on to my father, who I consider one of Australia's biggest collectors of ANY and EVERYTHING! Yes lets see stamps, coins, coke cans, beer cans, biscuit tins, Avon bottles shall I go on? I think you've got the picture.  Dad loves his collection and takes pride in showing visitors what's new and interesting. BUT he does have a tendency to hoard, yes he not only collects things once he collects multiples!!!

Where are you going with this you may ask? Well I told myself 'nope' thats not going to be me!

I did away with my 'Nick Nacks' about 10 years ago and it's great, not as much dust to collect!!
BUT I hoard photos!! Yes not only my own photos but now yours!! I just can't delete them!! They say women have an emotional attachment to their work and I have to say thats right. I so want to be able to just show my clients the best shots, the ones with the best composition, exposure and leading lines but I can't I have to show them all photos, I just can't delete them!!

We've exceeded 100,000 now and multiple hard drives later I still can't let go.........

Are you obsessed like me? I best not tell you about my prop collection....... well lets just say thats another story......

My journey

Well here goes!!

Gee now I have my blog where on earth do I start?
www.picturesofyou09.net

Let's start with my blogging goals; I have good intent to blog weekly and cover a range of photographic topics. I will share my personal work, discuss my own unique and creative style and share things I learn along the way.
I love all aspects of photography, portraiture, macro, landscape, sport, wildlife and my list goes on and on.... Its this overall passion that makes it difficult for me to focus on what I'd like to specialise in.
I make photographic cards and sell them at local markets, I enjoy photographing newborns in my little homemade studio (soon to be upgraded) and I dabble in a little wedding and real estate photography, yep that's me the all rounder!!
I love to follow my Face Book page Picturesofyou and get excited every time someone 'likes' my page this to me means someone is enjoying my work and that's a real honour to give someone a warm fuzzy!

I have developed my own web site and what a challenge that has been, check me out at www.picturesofyou09.net and I even joined Linked in, Pintrest and Twitter, which is all very trendy for me to say the least!

I encourage you to follow my journey of bogging and enjoy the world of creative photography the more the merrier.
